National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT) is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The Council centrally regulates academics for B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration and eleven other structured courses of study that are imparted at the existing 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 14 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management and 15 Private Institutes of Hotel Management affiliated with NCHMCT. Five Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country offer Diploma programs in specific operational areas. All Institutes follow standardised course curricula prescribed by the Council for different professional programs.
B.Sc. HOSPITALITY & HOTEL ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM (A FULL TIME REGULAR COURSE) 2014-15
The Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open Un
iversity. The Three – Year (Six Semester) full time regular course equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The program also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skill standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping. It also provides managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety & Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
A pass in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in JEE 2013 on provisional basis.The offer of admission is subject to verification of original certificates/documents at the time of admission. If any candidate is found ineligible at a later date even after admission to an Institute, his/her admission will stand cancelled.
Application Fee: ONLINE: Rs. 800 for GEN/OBC Categories & Rs. 400/- For SC/ST/PD Categories.
OFF-LINE: Rs. 900/- for GEN/OBC Categories & Rs. 450/- for SC/ST/PD Categories
Pattern for Written Examination
- Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude- 30 Questions
- Reasoning and Logical Deduction- 30 Questions
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs- 30 Questions
- English Language-60 Questions
- Aptitude for Service Sector- 50 Questions
Marking Scheme for JEE Written Test
Each correct answer under Numerical Ability & Scientific Aptitude, Reasoning & Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and English Language component carry one mark. For any wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. Graded mark(s) will be awarded under Aptitude for Service Sector component i.e. 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 & 1.00. The most appropriate answer carries one mark.
Duration- 3 Hrs.
